Five New Investigators

Hey all you family members!

Dad has asked me several questions lately so I will explain a few things. In years passed, missionaries had to have their discussions memorized. There really aren't things for us to memorize, although we are expected to have the lesson of the First Vision memorized because we use it so often.

We have certain standards of excelence to try to reach each week or month. They are kinda like the "minimum goal." These are: 2 baptisms a month, having a member present during lessons, progressing investigators, total lessons, and getting people to Church. The ones we mainly focus on are having members present in the lesson, and getting people to Church. Oh yeah, and finding new investigators.

But we are assigned to 3 wards, and can teach in English and Spanish. and hopefuly if we got enought Spanish converts we could start a Spanish branch. Maybe in a few years.

One is of our wards in Bisbee, and i think its just called Bisbee ward, in the Sierra Vista stake. And the other is in Elfrida, and i think its called the Elfrida ward, in the maybe St. David Stake. The third one is the a branch in the town of Sunsights in the St. David stake too, if thats the name of the stake. i dotn know.

Transfers happen every 6 weeks. If we got a transfer call (which come on Sunday night) then our P-day moves to Tuesday, instead of the usual Monday On Tuesday morning depending on where you will be going, you will go to the transfer site, to meet your new companion. Or you are taken by van out to the other side of the mission, like i did, when I was transferred here. Then you will meet your new companion there, and go to your new area and have P-day.

Our area is too big to use bikes, so we won't be using them here.

Well this week was great we found 5 new investigators, and are starting to find more people in Elfrida, its moving forward, just slowly.  We might have a baptism coming up in a few weeks, of a 9 year old who lives with her grandma, and she is less active.  So we are hoping they can progress before the end of this transfer.

I Finished El Libro De Mormon on saturday.  I was reading for my whole hour of language study, and then  for and hour at night before bed.  And i finished it reading it all out loud.  Now im not sure quite what to do for spanish study, but i guess i will figure something out.

We are actually spending this Pday in Sierra Vista , and we played some Volley ball! first time on my mission!  then we helped some of the elders move out of there apartment into 3 story apartment, we had a couch and that was pretty hard to get up there, so we got alittle creative.  (Elder Loveless took a little movie of it but his Dad doesn't want to post it to this blog because it looks kind of dangerous and he is affaid the elders might get in trouble!)

Well not much else is new, we just had a great conference week, i learned alot, and it was great, all of the conference talks are inspired, and they will say something we all need, just like Elder Holland said in his talk.  We saw the Priesthood session and the Sunday morning session on the satelitte and the rest of the sessions in the homes of members. They all have KBYU TV.
