People Looking For The Church

DEAR FAMILY!!!......AND TWINS!!!

(Elder Loveless just received a letter from his oldest sister, Valerie Illguth, informing him that the twins she had supposedly mis-carried, are still growing inside her and doing well.)

I Got Valerie's letter the other day......So exciting! I cant wait to see them.

(It will be more than two years until Elder Loveless sees these new twins in person, since they are due to be born well after he will arrive in the mission field.)

Ok, so this week has been pretty good. Days really go about the same each day, with some highlights. But i will just talk about Sunday. So on Sunday, me and my companion, Elder Kimball, decided to not use our car all day. So we walked to church and to our presidents meeting, Elder Kimball wanted to work in the Call center and make a few referral calls, so he did. I chickened out.

We walked to our historical site, and it started to rain really hard after we got there. and ended about half hour later, but it was nice. Sister Vinton, had an Atlas so i finally got to look at a map at Tucson! We were assigned in the Brick yard again. And we had a great time. A family of 4 came, and it was kinda obvious they were a non-member family. But i didnt know for sure, so i gave them a referral card and asked if they would either write down if they had anybody to refer or if they wanted to refer themselves. And they took it! I'm not sure if they filled it out or not. My biggest tour was 13 people. I like working in the brick yard. It's easy, and not really a tour, but a demonstration. I wish we got to make the bricks, though.

We walked home, got some pictures of the temple. Then we had our Zone Confrence, it was great, if you havn't seen the church video "only a stone cutter" look it up, its a great video and we watched it. President Ludwig, told us all that we should center our lives on Christ, in every thing we do. It was a great meeting. We shook hands with alot of the senior missionaries. They love the YPMs. and they are going to be sad when we leave. But they are the ones who brighten things up for us. When you come, you will see that in Rendezvous in Old Nauvoo, which they put on.

Well after that meeting, we had to walk all the way to the Seventies Hall for a mission call opening, and that is about a mile away, so we had to run a bit, but we beat the other elders there, and they had a car. So he opened his call and is going to Hawaii. Then we walked back home. Nauvoo comes so much more alive when you walk through the streets, and you have more time to look at stuff, then when you drive, or even in the band wagon, so we try to walk around alot more.

Oh yeah and on monday we went to the Call room, and i made 3 calls! So i got up the courage and did it. My frist call answered (when Elder Kimball's 5 calls the day before didnt) And she was a very nice person, she said her sister was investigating, so i got her address and the missionaries will go there! it was exciting. Then my 2nd call didnt answer, and my 3rd hung up on me i think. The sister missionaries were excited when we did it. So we will probably do it more. I like actually doing some missionary work.

This week, as usual, we have eaten lots and lots at the Hardys. We've had things like, Chicken Tacos, Pork Chops, and things like that. It is their mission to cook lunch for all the young performing missionaries.

I'm still very excited to be here and its pretty good. The Seniors are all awesome. I am excited to go to the MTC and Tucson. But im still excited to be here!

President Clark of BYU-Idaho and his wife are here. They spoke to us this morning. He quoted one of the Twelve saying that missionary work has been focussing on finding ways to find people, and that that will change to more people looking for the church. and Pres. Clark said that is being fulfilled here in Nauvoo where people come here for some reason, and are taught the gospel by the examples of the seniors here, and the lives of the Saints who lived here.

And we got to go to the pageant on friday, last week. it was pretty good. we were only on the 3rd row to the front. But we only get to see it 2 times, and that was one of them. We wont be able to watch it with you guys.

Oh yeah, my mission president has to talk to President Weaver about my Temple recommend interview, well to get permission to do it. So make sure hes get that call. (He did.) And i will need to be released when i come back by the Stake president. So i will need an appointment for that.

I liked Elder Oliver's letter you sent me, he went through the MTC fast, it made me so excited to get there. Hillary's solo trip to Rexburg sounded like fun, and shes driving, thats crazy! And Mom, the Young womans president? That's funny, but she will do good. Well I'm getting excited for you to come here, its coming up really soon.

Have a Good week

LOVE

ELDER LOVELESS
