The Best Christmas Present

Hola Familia

Well this week we went to a mine tour in Sahuarita, aparantly it is just an ant hill compared to the one is salt lake. but it was very fun. and that was about the extent of our pday.
we went carroling to some of our investigators. that was really fun, the kids really liked it, and got very excited. we would just sing the Spanish hymns in the hymn book. we actually sounded pretty good at some of them.

For Christmas eve we had dinner at the Urias familys house, and we had posoli or however its spelled, its soup con carne onions, cilantro, salsa. it was very good. We had a little bonfire before dinner, and we got to burn alot of wood for that. its been pretty cold in the morning and at night time. but the day feels very nice. we went to a Catholic mass at 12 in the night on Christmas night. it was very weird, with a mariachi band, and in both Spanish and English. but there were alot of people there for it being midnight and Christmas.

On Christmas my present was to sleep in a few minutes :) and i got to call home. That was very weird to talk to everybody again, but it was very great to hear how everybody is doing. we got ready and we went to Tucson for the mission home open house. we got to see president and sister walker, and eat some cookies. Then we had a dinner appointment at 5:30 with the barajas family. We had tamales, after that we went to the Rehms house for another dinner, we had rib roast, mashed potatos, ham, rolls, so we were pretty stuffed. AND sister Rehm gave us Christmas stockings, with candy, and a new tie for each of us. Then we drove home, and went to bed. it was a very good christmas. It didnt really feel like christmas all day though, i guess cactuses and 80 degree weather just isnt the same as utah. But oh well.

I know you are all supporting me in being here, and i am having the greatest time here! The best Christmas present i have is what i am even here for, the message we have to share. every time i think about it, i get so excited. This work is true, and we are working for the Lord. Thanks for all the support, and prayers. Each one helps a lot.

have a great rest of Christmas break, and a Happy New year.

Love Elder Loveless.
