Wow this week was great! We fasted with some members on Wednesday to find investigators. And right before we ended the fast Hermano Garcia said he already had somebody that we could teach, and that he was going to bring to church that Sunday. Well he came to church, and we will teach him more this week. Also this whole week we found 10 new investigators! The standard of excellence (minimum goal) is 5 a week. We had a special training to be more obedient, and to work to double the monthly baptisms by May. So you double your finding and you double the baptisms, but i think with these investigators, most of them will pull through....But that's the difficult thing for this week, to get them to church, and to read, and then baptism. But im very excited for these next few weeks.
One thing i liked that President Walker said in the training was that This Area has potential to baptize. And in the last few days i have seen that potential. We are finding new places to knock and reknock everyday, and i know there are people in these areas for us to teach.
Also some really good news, we had the interview for Maria Cruz, and we are planing for her baptism on Saturday! She is a little sick, and scared she might not be able to make it to the baptism, so we are all going to fast for her. Her family are members too, in Mesa, and they are helping out alot too. Arturo, her husband, will follow in a few weeks. He wants to be completely worthy to be baptized. But Maria Cruz is ready for it, and very excited that she will finally be baptized.
I used to be really nervous to knock doors, but now its not too bad. The people who open are our brothers and sisters, and if they get mad at you, oh well, just go to the next door. Pretty much every door we knock is Spanish, so thats nice....and they usually always listen even if they aren't interested. We are doing some switches with English classes, just changing up times and trying to use their full potential.
This has been an exciting time, me and Elder Lawson are working really hard, we have to eat shorter lunches, and dinners, to do all the work we can in a day. But its been very hard, and very worth it. We are both growing so much right now, in Spanish, teaching, the Spirit, knowing the needs of people, and just being there to help them. This work is truly the work of the Lord, and very exciting. I'm having the most fun ive had so far! And I attribute that to the Lord. There is no other work greater on the earth that this one.
Thank you for all your support, and prayers, they are working! Keep having fun with family, its something i wish i could do. I love your letters too!
